Our story

A rotisserie opened downstairs from us.

That’s where the Don Barrio story starts.

01 · A good place

The food is really good.

We were really happy to find it. We liked their cooking from the first day. It’s exactly the kind of local shop we want to support: close by, done well, and run by people who know what they’re doing.

02 · The hard part

The only tricky part was ordering.

To buy anything, you had to go down, order and wait while they made it. When it was busy, a queue formed inside. When it wasn’t, you still had to wait. And sometimes, by the time you got there, what you wanted had run out.

They weren’t doing anything wrong. They were doing it very well.

Their job is cooking and looking after their customers. We thought technology could take care of the rest.

With a shop like that a few metres away, we didn’t want our food delivered just to avoid waiting. We wanted to keep going down.

That’s how Don Barrio started.

05 · More than one shop

It wasn’t just about one rotisserie.

Pizzerias, empanada shops, bakeries, pastry shops, ready meals. Lots of independent shops are very good at what they do, and they shouldn’t have to become tech companies to offer something like this.

06 · Why we do it

Our job is to give them simple tools to sell directly and look after their relationship with their customers.

Less waiting. You order when it suits you and collect when it’s ready.

Orders organised in advance. And the relationship with their customers stays theirs.

For us

Building the technology that makes it easy, so they can get on with their work.
